Ian Jones Scholarship Memorial Fund
The scholarship is in the memory of Ian Jones,
a man of impeccable character. A leader in the classroom and on the field.

A one time distribution of $500 will be given to a minimum of one female and one male who meet the scholarship criteria per year.

Students Athletes who qualify:

• 3 Sport athlete (Fall, Winter, Spring) for 3 years of high school
•• can combine seasonal sports to satisfy year requirement (example- 1 year playing football + 2 years playing soccer = 1 Fall sport for 3 years).
•• must earn at least one varsity letter in each port

• Minimum 3.25 cumulative unweighted GPA
••Showcases the student athlete’s ability to perform
both in the classroom and in their respective sports

• Students must apply for the fund
•• Applications will be accepted from the first
Monday in March through the last Friday in April

• One letter of recommendation from a PCLS faculty member (certified or classified) or a coach

• Applications must submit a typed essay stating why they believe they deserve this scholarship and what it means for them to represent Painesville City School and the City of Painesville
